2023 Important Reminders

• Vehicles must be removed from the city roads after 2 inches of snowfall or risk being ticketed and/or towed.  The police department’s goal is certainly not to write tickets or tow vehicles, it’s simply to provide our plow drivers with an open road to plow. 

• Weekly yard waste collection through Groot runs from April 1 through the first full week in December of every year.

• Christmas trees will be collected free of charge during the first 2 weeks of January. Trees do not require a sticker but do need to be free of all ornamentation, tinsel, garland, and lights.

• Groot will observe the following holidays: If the holiday falls on a weekday, on or before your scheduled collection, service will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the holiday week. If the holiday falls on Sunday, it will be observed on Monday and service will be delayed one day the entire week.
